Upcoming Events

The Treehouse, a Forest Garden School celebrates the cycles of the year through a rich and vibrant festival life.  Celebrating these festivals helps us to connect with the natural cycle of the Earth and establish a yearly rhythm for our children.  Through these festivals, the school cultivates community among children, teachers, parents and friends.

Festivals help us to nourish our souls through the sharing of stories, food, songs and activities linked to the seasons and expressed with beauty and reverence. In addition to the community-wide festivals listed here, teachers celebrate other festivals in the classroom, including those connected to different cultures being studied.

"A festival has the quality of lifting us out of the ordinary and into the mysteries and magic of the rhythm of the seasons."

May Faire and 15th Anniversary

10:30-12:00

Dear Treehouse Families, Alumni and Community members, You are jubilantly invited to our May Faire and The Treehouse’s 15th Anniversary with us. We are so honored to have been a part of so many lives in these past 15 years and want to celebrate this huge milestone with all of you. For this special Anniversary our May Faire will be FULL of enchanting additions! Enjoy classic May Faire activities like crafting spring wands and flower crowns before we gather for the Maypole dance. Delight in a visit from Lady Spring and her fairies, who will be sharing little gifts with the children. Share in the spirit of community at our bountiful potluck, then treat yourself to a sweet scoop from our organic ice cream booth, featuring plant-based alternatives. And for an extra dose of joy, we’ll have 8 baby goats visiting for everyone to cuddle and play with. Whether reminiscing with fellow alumni or embracing the present with current families, we look forward to celebrating this special milestone together in the beauty of spring. In a world that often feels divided, coming together in the spirit of community is the ultimate form of revolution. Now more than ever, we gather as one to celebrate connection, joy, and the journey we have shared. Join us for a beautiful morning in our Forest Garden, where old friends reunite, new memories are made, and the traditions that bind us continue to flourish.

Presale Starts April 18th!!!

We will again be partnering with our friends at local and woman-owned Sun Love Farm.  If you're looking to up your vegetable game this summer, find her at both Oregon City and Milwaukie Farmers Markets and of course buy your own starts through our fundraiser!  You'll find some new and exciting selections; please use the links I've provided to get some more information on each.   As we did last year, we are partnering again with Bosky Dell Natives for our native plant selection, also local and woman owned!  Native plants are a great addition to any landscape, perfect for a household looking to get their property Backyard Habitat Certified.   Find pricing at headers for each section. Veggies: $5 for 4" pots and $6 for 6 packs  Native Plants:  $15 for one gallon  and $30 for two gallon I bet you're wondering when you'll get your little plants babies.... While we are all excited about more sun   and warmer temperatures, we need to quell our urge to put most veggies in the ground just yet.  We are going to let Melissa and the Sun Love crew take care of our little starts for another few weeks; they'll stay warm and well watered.  Pre-sale pick ups will start in the afternoon on May 14th.   You'll be able to pick up your order anytime on May 15 and 16.  Face to face sale of what has not been claimed will be on May 17th 10am to 2pm; you can also pick up your pre-sale order during this time.   We will need two to four parent volunteers to manage the face to face sale on May 17th. Please sign up on the Parent Volunteer Sign Up sheet.

Setting Healthy Boundaries

Parenting Seminar with Nicole De Picciotto

5:30-7pm

In this interactive workshop, Nicole will lead you through a simple but revelatory process in which you can clarify your approach to discipline and boundary-setting with your children of all ages (infancy through adulthood). Using the latest brain science, we’ll look at why most disciplinary strategies that were likely used on us as children don’t support our children’s development. We’ll learn what really works and why, along with useful tactics to assess what is most helpful in navigating any difficult situation. We’ll also take a look at what most often gets in the way of parental success with boundary-setting and learn together how to trouble-shoot sticky situations. Nicole is a coach for parents and adolescents who has seen time and again how parenting our children, through all its pressures and joys, presents a radical opportunity to grow as humans. And the more we grow, the better we parent. She has a private practice in which she helps overwhelmed and exhausted parents find their own parenting genius and fall in love with parenting once again. You can learn more and schedule a free consultation with her at nicoledcoaching.com
